Project Summary
NY Building Systems Consultant Inc. (NYBSC) provided comprehensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP/FP) engineering design services to transform the degenerate structure into a modern, energy-efficient facility suitable for office and locker room use. The primary goal was to revitalize the facility to meet DEP’s operational, safety, and regulatory standards, while ensuring long-term system reliability and maintainability. NYBSC’s engineering team worked closely with the client and project stakeholders to deliver a coordinated, code-compliant, and cost-effective design solution. NYBSC designed a high-efficiency HVAC system tailored to the building’s new programmatic layout. The system incorporated Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS) for ventilation and designed a heat pump-based Rooftop Unit (RTU). Also, electrical systems design was upgraded for lighting layouts, distribution panels, switchboards, emergency and exit lighting, and cabling systems. NYBSC designed complete plumbing systems for the building, automatic sprinkler system for fire protection. Through detailed engineering, proactive coordination, and technical innovation, NYBSC successfully delivered a fully rehabilitated, energy-efficient DEP Field Operations Facility that meets modern performance, safety, and sustainability standards.
