Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Position

NY Building Systems Consultant Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with an innovative mindset and a passion for excellence. The selected candidate will play a key role in the design and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP/FP) systems for a variety of commercial and residential projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial and residential MEP design
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks preferred
Strong interest in building design, energy efficiency, and sustainability
EIT or PE license preferred (not required)

Experience in the Following Areas is Required:

MEP system design, load calculations, and mechanical component evaluation
Preparation of detailed contract drawings using AutoCAD or Revit
Project execution in compliance with client requirements, timelines, and standards
Coordination with multi-disciplinary teams across all project phases
Feasibility studies, budgeting, and cost estimation
Ability to manage multiple projects, monitor quality, and maintain client relationships
Energy modeling and analysis (preferred)
Knowledge of Energy Audits and Commissioning is a plus

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support MEP design and energy reduction initiatives
Collaborate with engineering and energy teams under the supervision of Professional Engineers (PEs)
Develop and implement project goals, strategies, and budgets
Prepare and present project plans and progress reports to meet timelines
Work closely with the Energy and Commissioning teams as needed

Senior Energy Auditor

Type: Full Time

Location: New York City

About the Job:

We are currently seeking Senior Energy Engineer for our energy team in our New York City office. Equal Employment Opportunity is a vital component of our company culture and our success.

Experience: You should have demonstrated experience of the following areas:

A passion for mitigating climate change and optimizing building performance is required
Experience in at least 2 of the following: Energy Auditing, Commissioning, HVAC Design
Experience with executing the contract according to the clients’ requirement within the specified time and standard.
Experience working with cross-discipline teams to execute the project.
Experience with project execution, feasibility studies, budget and cost calculation
Manage multiple projects, work area or technical skill set, monitor quality of work, and is involved in client liaison.
Experience on various NYC energy laws is preferred

Requirements:

Bachelor’s in Engineering from Accredited College.
3+ years of experience in commercial and residential field.
Proven interest in the field of building design and/or energy.

Preferred Knowledge, skills, and qualifications:

Local Law 87 and Local Law 97 decarbonization roadmaps for NYC multifamily and commercial buildings
Certifications, licenses, or postgraduate degrees such as: Master’s degree, PE, RA, CEM, CEA, BCxP, or equivalent.

Qualities:
